National Voter Registration: Be Ready, Be Informed, Be Heard
Earlier this month, on September 15, 2026, National Voter Registration Day was recognized across the country. This nonpartisan civic day is dedicated to helping eligible Americans register to vote, check their registration, and update their information when needed. While the official day has passed, September is still a meaningful time to check in and make sure you are prepared and informed.
At True North Wellness Services, we believe that navigating life includes knowing where to find reliable information, understanding the systems that affect our lives, and feeling empowered to make our own informed decisions. Voter registration fits naturally into that idea.
This isn't about telling anyone who to vote for, what to believe, or which issues should matter most to them. Those decisions belong to each individual. It is about making sure people know how to access the process.
Why Voter Registration Matters
Life changes—and sometimes our voter registration information needs to change with it.
Maybe you have moved, changed your name, recently became eligible to vote, or simply haven't checked your registration information in a while. Taking a few minutes to verify that your information is accurate can help you be prepared before an election.
National Voter Registration Day has been observed as a nonpartisan civic holiday since 2012, bringing together community organizations and volunteers to help people register or update their information.

September Is a Good Time for a Check-In
Even though National Voter Registration Day has passed, you can still use this month as a reminder to:
CHECK your voter registration status.
UPDATE your information if something has changed, such as your name or address.
LEARN about the voting process and options available where you live.
USE RELIABLE RESOURCES for information about registration requirements, deadlines, and voting options.
Registration rules and deadlines vary by state, so official state and local election authorities are important sources for current information.
Access Matters
Navigating systems is not always easy. Older adults, individuals with disabilities, people experiencing housing instability, caregivers, and people going through major life transitions may encounter additional challenges when trying to find information or complete necessary steps.
Sometimes support is as simple as helping someone locate an official resource, understand instructions, or identify where they can ask questions. Providing access to information isn't about influencing someone's decision. It is about making sure they have the opportunity to make that decision for themselves.
Your Voice. Your Community. Your Journey.
At True North Wellness Services, our compass represents finding direction through life's many transitions. National Voter Registration Day offers a simple reminder that being prepared can begin with one small step.
Check your information. Learn about the process. Seek reliable resources. Make your own informed decisions.
